Privacy Policy

NeriOS is an operations platform for maritime pilot organizations, operated by Fairlead Technologies, LLC(“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the NeriOS mobile and web apps collect, how we use it, and your choices. NeriOS is a business tool provided to pilot organizations and their personnel; it is not directed at the general public.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email, role, and organization, used to sign you in and provide the service.
- Phone numbers you add — the mobile, FirstNet, or call-out numbers on your profile, and your call and text preferences. Your organization uses them to reach you: they appear in its directory, and its call-out system can call or text you.
- Operational data you enter — jobs, assignments, vessels, schedules, ride and helicopter requests, boat logs, readiness checks and defect reports, pilotage tickets (including the ship master’s signature), training records and evaluations, availability and duty status, alerts you post, and your vehicle’s make, model, color, and plate if you add them so a driver can find you. This data belongs to your organization and is visible to authorized members of your organization.
- Device push token — if you enable notifications, we store your device’s push token to deliver alerts you opt into. You can turn this off in your device settings.
- Photos you choose to attach — if you add a photo (from your camera or photo library) to a feedback report, a boat defect report, or a maintenance task, we store that image with the record. The app only accesses your camera or photos when you tap to attach one. Before a photo from the current app is stored, our servers remove the information embedded in the file, including any location your camera recorded.
- Home-screen widget — if you add the NeriOS widget, the app keeps a copy of your current card (your board number, your job, and the lines you choose to show) on your device so the widget can display it. Signing out removes it.
- Diagnostic and activity data — your app’s build number and notification settings when you turn on notifications, error reports from our servers, a short crash report our app-update provider receives if an update fails to start, and a record of actions taken in NeriOS (for example, who updated a job), kept for your organization’s records and for security.
We do notcollect your device’s location. The app never asks for location access, fields such as vehicle or car location are text you choose to enter, and location information embedded in photos is removed before they are stored. If you enable Face ID or Touch ID to unlock NeriOS, that check happens entirely on your device and we never receive your biometric data. We do not use advertising identifiers or third-party ad or tracking SDKs.
How we use your information
- To operate, maintain, and provide NeriOS to your organization.
- To authenticate you and protect account security.
- To deliver in-app and push notifications you have enabled.
- To provide support and to improve reliability.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
How information is shared
- Within your organization — NeriOS is multi-tenant; authorized members and administrators of your organization can access your organization’s operational data, and its directory shows your name, role, and the phone numbers on your profile to them. Each organization’s data is isolated from every other organization.
- Service providers — vendors who process data on our behalf under contract: application hosting (Vercel), database and file storage (Supabase), transactional email (Resend), push delivery and app updates (Expo, Apple APNs, Google FCM), phone calls and text messages (Twilio), and error diagnostics (Sentry). They may use the data only to provide their service to us. Automated call-outs and job predictions come from our own assistant service, which we operate.
- Legal — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Data security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Each organization’s data is isolated using database row-level security and role-based access controls. Access is limited to what your role requires.
Data retention
We retain your information while your account and organization are active, and as needed to provide the service and meet legal or operational requirements. We delete or anonymize data in accordance with your organization’s retention policy or on a valid request.
Your choices
- Access and update your profile within the app.
- Control notification behavior in your in-app Notification Preferences and your device settings.
- Choose which lines the widget shows in Settings → Widget, or remove the widget at any time.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting your organization’s administrator or us at the email below. To delete your account, see how to delete your account.
Children
NeriOS is a workplace tool and is not directed to children.
International
Data is processed and stored in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do.
